There's something very rewarding about having a delicious Indian dinner with friends, easy conversation with no lulls, and then picking up the check on a whim. Best $50 I've spent in a while.

It's also something that I can think of very little that I want for Christmas. Am I that satisfied in my material possessions? I guess so. That's not a bad thing.

Sometimes a day just makes you feel good. Got up early (for me on a weekend), fed the dog, ate some peanut butter wheat toast for breakfast, spent some time with the wife, made plans to get at Syd in the early afternoon. I finally wrote something about that Pixies record, hit the treadmill and bench for some intense workout time, rocked the 108 discography, took an excellent shower. Checked Syd at his crib, enjoyed some new music he's been working on, hit the road for some coffee and unexpectedly ran into Robert. Mocha warming my belly we walked with Rob back to Colin's shop, bullshitted with Robert and family and Colin for some time. Hit the Great Escape, copped two used Queen & Country trades, rocked Zep and Talking Heads and Lerche in the car, dropped Syd off with plans to knock noggins over music at some point soon. Back at the house and it's dinner with Ashley, a little shut-eye on the couch, and now I'm rocking Blue Scholars, killing time before a midnight showing of Stop Making Sense at Baxter, where I hope to see Jonathan and possibly Fred and members of the League.

And I didn't even have to use my A-K.
